Entry Methods & Deadlines
- Text Message & Online Entries: Pre-Entries will close at posted time. If you did not receive a confirmation reply your entry was not received. Please check the draw for accuracy. Online Entries are available on our Website or through our Facebook page. Entry Fee must be paid before your run.
- Walk Up Entries: Entries will be taken up to the last runner or otherwise posted.
- Payment Methods: Cash (to include Venmo & Cash App) & Cards accepted on site. No Checks.
- Scratches/No Shows: Entry fees will be required for failure to scratch and is to be paid prior to entering any subsequent Flying E race.
- Draw Outs: You may draw out for ANY reason prior to the start of your class.
- Draw Order: Draw order is random and contestants must compete in its drawn order.
- SGP Events: $1 of each entry fee is paid to SGP for any Flying E event utilizing this program.
AQHA Entries
- AQHA time will carry over to the Open if Entered, you will not make a second run. AQHA books close one hour prior to the start of the AQHA Class. AQHA Exhibitors must provide copy of CURRENT INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP CARD and FRONT SIDE OF REGISTRATION PAPERS. AQHA entries must check in at office before barrel race begins to provide horse registration paper and membership copies, and to pick up AQHA blanket number! AQHA Sidepots will be paid on entire AQHA draw order, not by division. AQHA Barrel Sidepot will be paid on 5D (1/2 second splits). AQHA DRESS CODE REQUIRED FOR ALL AQHA CLASSES.
Site Rules
- Dogs: Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
- Trash: This is our home. For off-site events, we are guests. Please do not leave a mess. Please carry out any garbage or use provided trash cans. Violations may result in a hold on winnings or disqualification of your run at the discretion of Flying E.
- Vendors: All vendors must register with the Flying E. Only authorized vendors & sponsors are allowed to sell and/or advertise on the grounds.
Exhibitions
- Exhibitions will be sold ON-SITE ONLY. No Pre-Entries.
- Pre-Exhibitions will be off stakes. After-Exhibitions will be on stakes. Drag every 30 mins.
- Exhibitions will be sold as tickets and will not be run by pages nor announced; first come first serve. Please be courteous of other exhibitioners. Hand your ticket to the gateman for each run.
- Without Timer Display: Times will not be announced. If you wish to have your time announced please tell the office or the gateman.
- With Timer Display: Times will not be announced.
- Exhibitions WILL terminate at posted time or 15 minutes prior to the start of the first class, whichever comes first to allow for a big drag and on time start. Un-used Exhibitions may be carried over to after Exhibitions or the next race. No Refunds.
- Flying E will only sell 25 tickets per 30-minute increment to prevent un-used exhibitions, however, please do not wait until the last minute to take your exhibition.
- Exhibitions are 60 seconds. Exhibitions longer than 60 seconds will count as a second exhibition.
Contest Rules:
- Fair Ground:
- Contestants may NOT enter the arena during the drag. The arena is defined as past the plane of the alley. Violations may result in a $50 fine or disqualification.
- Absolutely NO extra-circling of barrels or training during competition runs. Violations with result in a $50 fine to be paid prior to the next run. If the pattern is broken the rider may complete the pattern and needs to exit in a timely manner.
- No Time’s will be given for the following reasons:
- If the contestant “circles” their horse after entering the arena.
- If the contestant breaks or misses the barrel pattern.
- If the contestant knocks over a barrel. Touching a barrel to keep it from falling is permitted.
- If the contestant or their horse falls during the run in a manner that breaks pattern or if the rider falls off past the plane of the alley.
- If a horse stops forward motion.
- Turn Outs:
- A 3-call rule will be in effect. If you are not in or making your way to the alley way, you will be a turn out.
- Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the announcer & the Flying E (I.E. riders running multiple horses within a short time etc).

- There is no set time limit to begin your run for jackpots & series events provided you are in the holding area and efforts are being made to enter the arena.
YGBSM’s
- Timer Malfunction: Contestants have the choice between a re-run or a refund. It is up to the contestant to contact the staff if they wish to make a re-run (at the end of the race or group of 50).
- Barrel Misplacement: If the barrels are improperly set, contestants will receive a re-run or refund.
- Fines: Must be paid prior to the next run. Flying E reserves the right to place a hold on winnings & prizes.
Results, Winnings, & Prizes
- Full results with payout will be posted within 24 hours. Points may take longer to update and be posted.
- All efforts will be made for a full cash payout at the end of the race.
- Contestants are not required to stay to the end of the race to receive their winnings; winnings may be sent electronically (Venmo, CashApp etc.)
- Winnings & Prizes will be held for 30 Days. It is the responsibility of the contestant to contact the Flying E to receive your winnings/prizes. Winnings held longer than 30 days will be forfeited. Prizes will not be shipped.
WARNING: Under South Carolina law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of equine activity, pursuant to Article 7, Chapter 9 of Title 47, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976
